Situated at the height of 2050 meter above sea level thus glorying cool climates all year round. The Toy Train which was established in 1881, still runs in Darjeeling and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The town filled with a people from Nepal, Tibet, Gorkhas and nearly Indian states. The Kanchenjunga peak (8587m) India's highest and world third highest peak clearly visible from here and you can enjoy the magnificent view of the peak. 

'Darjeeling Tea' is a well known tea variety that is explored around the all over the world.

*BEST TIME TO VISIT-

In Summer season(April to June) tourists can experience outdoor activities and a beauteous sightseeing of the hills. The weather remains cool and present this is ideal time to visit Darjeeling.

Avg temp- (8 to 27degree)

In Winter (September to February) you can enjoy the snowfall(which is rarely), winter sports and the glory of the hills, the view of Kanchenjunga clearly visible from tiger hill, this probably the best time to visit .Darjeeling is best for newly lovebirds seeking privacy and to spend some quality time with the loved one .

*HOW TO REACH-

By Air- The nearest Airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra (IXB) Airport which is approximately 80km away from the city. The only airport which connect the Darjeeling by Air. From airport you can reach the city by hiring taxis it will take 2-3 hours to reach Darjeeling. 

By Train- New Jalpaiguri Station is the nearest railway station of Darjeeling which connects many Indian cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Mumbai etc. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railways (Toy Train A UNESCO World Heritage Site) runs between Darjeeling and New Jalpaiguri and it takes 7 hours to reach Darjeeling. 

-There are 3 Toy Trains which is from Darjeeling to Ghoom and back to Darjeeling. You can book the tickets from IRCTC site. The first toy train which is in the morning is driven by coal engine and rest two are diesel which are around 11AM and last one in the afternoon.

By Road-Darjeeling is connected to SILIGURI National Highway. The state government serves the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) buses to Darjeeling. However, smaller private vehicles such as Sumo Gold, Jeep are popular in comparison to buses and it takes approximately 1:30-2 hours to reach Darjeeling.

If you want a experience a market place where the locals come for shopping and marketing then take a hotels near lower market area also known as chowk bazaar. You will get a budget hotels near this area.

The most famous tourist place in Darjeeling, Tiger Hill is best known for its trekking routes and astonishing view of Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga. Situated at the altitude of 2590 meters. You have reach tiger hill by 4:15* AM by taking private cab from Darjeeling. The cab drops you up to the parking area of Tiger hill then after requires a short climb on foot to reach the spot. The view of first rays of the sun on the Mount Everest is wondrous.

^BATASIA LOOP- Distance from Mall road 6.1 km

This is the world's highest railway track to Ghoom via Batasia loop. It is Located in 4.3km from Darjeeling. The view of Kanchenjunga range from here is magical and insane. There is also a memorial to tribute the Gorkha Soldiers of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives after the Independence in 1947.

^JAPANESE PEACE PAGODA- Distance from Mall road 3.7 km

The historic building was constructed in 1972 by the Japanese Buddhist monk Nichidatsu Fuji. Peace Pagoda reflects a four avatar of Lord Buddha. The Surrounded covered with a beautiful big tress and the the view of Kanchenjunga is astonishing.

Darjeeling Ropeway India's first ropeway which was established in 1968. You will get the The astonishing view of greenery tea garden, local houses, dense forest, Waterfalls and amazing hills of Himalayas and valleys of Darjeeling turn you into wordless. Ropeway is One of the most tourist attraction destination of Darjeeling. The 45minutes ropeway journey starts from Singamari to Singla bazar which is around 2-3 km away.

^THE ROCK GARDEN- Distance from Mall road 8.1 km

The Rock garden whose beauty is bring attention by the beautiful Waterfalls, artificial fountains, lush greenery hills, varieties of flowers and flora and fauna. Extremely beautiful place to visit in Darjeeling. Reaching of this place itself a adventures and bit risky cause of Hilly and narrow roads with a stiff circular turns, after reaching the destination you have a climb some stairs to reach Waterfall and fountains. This place is a gem of Darjeeling.

^SINGALILA NATIONAL PARK- Distance from Mall road km 36 km

Sangalila National Park announce a wildlife sanctuary in 1986 after that made an Indian National Parks in 1992. Situated in the hilly terrain of the "Crown of Bengal" which is around 36km away from Darjeeling. Park is well known for its trekking route of Singalila Ridge to Sandakphu to Phalu. Before entering it is mandatory to take permit from Forest Department office which is at the entrance of the park.
