THE QUEEN OF HILLS SHIMLA
Shimla the Capital of Himachal Pradesh also known as Simla and the one of the most popular hill station destination in India. Before Independence in 1864 Shimla was the summer capital of British India. After that the city became the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 2205m. A UNESCO listed World Heritage site; the railway route of Kalka-Shimla train. The colonial architecture , historical church & temples, the Mall road, Viceregal Lodge, Kufri and the natural environment who attracts the tourists most. In winter Shimla faces a heavy Snowfall in every year.
In this blog I'll try to give you an information about BEST TIME TO VISIT, HOW TO REACH, WHERE TO STAY ,FAMOUS PLACES TO EXPLORE IN SHIMLA AND BUDGET OF SHIMLA. So keep on reading I hope it's help you lot.
*Best Time to Visit Shimla-
You can visit hill station any season but Summer (average temp 15degree) (April to June) consider as best month to visit because the weather ideal for adventure activity like trekking, camping, paragliding and much more things. But ,
If you are snow lover then visit during December to February (peak season). In this month Shimla faces a heavy snowfall. (average temp -2 to 10 degree). You can do skiing and many more snow activity in Kufri (Shimla).
*HOW TO REACH-
BY AIR-
Shimla Airport (SLV) a domestic airport which is located in Jubbarhatti, 24km from the main town of Shimla.
BY TRAIN-
First you have to reach Kalka station. There are various train options from Delhi to Kalka but the Shatabdi Express consider as one of best and comfortable train which takes around 4 hours to reach Kalka.
And then ready for the experience of most beautiful journey Kalka Shimla Toy Train (UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2008).The train passes through 18 stations, 108 tunnels and 800 bridges.

BY BUS-
You can take bus from Delhi(Kashmiri Gate) and Chandigarh(bus stop)which is around 375 km and 112 km respectively from Shimla.

Mall Road area is quite expensive but good for stay if you want to stay close to Shimla market, Restaurants, Cafes, City Centre, Sightseeing. Here you will get a lots luxurious hotels to budget hotels options.
*FAMOUS PLACES TO VISIT
*JAKHU TEMPLE- (Distance from Mall Road 1.6 km)
The Temple of lord Hanuman which is situated on the top of Jakhu Hill that why known as Jakhu temple.
You can reach here by Ropeway which will cost 500-600/- or by private taxis will cost you around 400-500/- (depend on your bargaining).The view of Shimla from the top are very amazing.

*RASHTRAPATI NIWAS (Viceregal Lodge)-(Distance from Mall Road 3.6km)
Rashtrapati Niwas moreover known as Viceregal Lodge which is situated in Observatory Hill of Shimla. The Building itself a magnificent and was constructed (1888) in Scottish Baronial style. The most spectacular thing of this building is the Gallery entrance hall which is the last room on the tour to be visit. The guided tour inside the building is for 45minute covering with 4 big rooms that was different purpose on that time. Photography is prohibited here.

The Christ church is Second oldest church in North India. The church building constructed with Neo-Gothic style of architecture. A site of pure devotion as well as architectural beauty, at night the church literally glows when it is lighted up. The glorious church appeared in many famous movies like Black,3 idiots etc.
*Mall Road Shimla-
Heart of Shimla. one of the Most tourist attraction place in Shimla that enfolds many cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops, bars, banks and tourist offices. Mall road is the main street in Shimla. You can buy products like locally designed Woollen cloths, branded cloths, Wooden products, jewellery and many more things.
